You have the option to add convenience fees in two places:
1. Online Registration - This percentage will be added to all online registration and other payments in your portal. Just go to Magic > Online Registration. In the Online Registration Settings, you'll see a box for a Convenience Fee.
2. Auto-Pay - This percentage will be added to all recurring tuition payments. Just go to More > Settings > Auto-Pay Settings to define individual convenience fees by transaction method.
**When you add a convenience fee, that percentage is added to the charge that the customer pays. Then the fee that is collected by your payment processor is taken from the total.
For example: If you have a 3.5% convenience fee set up for online payments and a customer makes a $100 payment, the calculation would look like this:
Payment Amount: $100.00
Convenience Fee (3.5%): $3.50
Total Paid by Customer: $103.50
Merchant Fee (2.99% + $0.30): $3.39
Total Transferred to Your Bank Account: $100.11
Important: Know your laws. It is important to determine laws surrounding convenience fees in your specific location before setting fees.
