If you enable the Mobile Check-In feature, parents are able to check their students into class from the Parent Portal. This means that the student would be marked as present for the class(es) the parent selects without you or the teacher needing to do anything further.
To turn this option on for your parents, go to More > Settings then select "Portal Settings" in the left menu.
Choose the Options tab.
Next, scroll down to the "Attendance Settings" page and check the box that says "Let Parents use Mobile Check-In." For this option to work, you must also check the box to "Show Absences Page."
After you save those settings your parents can start using Mobile Check-In.
Parents can go to Info > Attendance:
They will see the "Check In" button at the top of the page.
Select the students they will be checking in for the day:
Then they can select the classes they will be attending that day, and click Check In.
The student will be marked as present for those classes.
Note:
If there is an attendance form enabled, the questions will appear for the parent to answer:
To have an Attendance Form filled out by parents, make sure that on your form settings you have checked the box that says "Parents can fill this out if they use Check-In."
