By default you will set up your classes to meet weekly, telling the system what days of the week and what times the class meets. You can also schedule extra sessions as needed outside of that regular schedule.
To add an extra date to a class, go to your main "Classes" page and select the class. With the class selected, click "Extra Class Dates" in the left menu.

To add an extra session for this class, click the "Add Date" button.

Enter a title, date, and times for this extra class date. The title will be displayed throughout the system and to your parents, so it is good practice to make it meaningful.

Next, set the Location for the extra session. You can select one of your existing locations and rooms, or you can pick "Other" under "Location" and type in a different place for the class to meet.

Last, enter a Description and tell the system how you would like to handle attendance. If this is to be treated like a normal class date where students are expected to attend, and absences are for exceptions only, select "Required." The system can also allow trials and drop-ins depending on your class settings if this date is required. If students are NOT required to attend this class date, pick "Optional." You can use the Class Manager to take attendance no matter which one you pick, but your selection determines how and where that absence is displayed if the student misses this class date.

After filling in all the details, scroll to the top and click "Save." That extra class date will now be listed on the "Extra Dates" page for your chosen class.

It is also shown throughout the system on parent portal calendars, your roll sheets, attendance history, and the Class Manager.

I use this feature for our competition team rehearsals that are not a regular schedule. It would be amazing if there was a "copy date" feature or if we could add them directly to the calendar.
We started using this feature to help parents fill out absences for extra rehearsals, but there is no report that shows us extra class dates or no class dates. A report would be helpful to determine how many extra class dates we added and how many no-class dates so we can determine if we have not gone over extra class dates or too many no-class dates. There is no way to see this.
