If a payment is made prior to the fee being posted, you can apply that credit transaction to the fee by going to the payment line item on the student's Journal History. Then, click the grey cog to the right of that transaction and select Split.
You'll be taken to a screen showing the debit transactions posted to the account that don't have a credit applied to it. You'll be able to select the fee. Then, click Continue and Save Split Payments.
The credit transaction will take on the Transaction Code assigned to the debit transaction.
For Online Store transactions or if you are doing an in-person Point of Sale transaction, you can select a Student if you'd like it to show on their transaction log (which is where the income reports pull from) Just follow these instructions below for that to happen with those as well.
