When a Parent follows the link from their Portal to join an Online Class held in Messenger Rooms by Facebook, there are a few restrictions and some additional functions you may want to be aware of.
When clicking through their Parent Portal and joining from a PC or Mac, with a Facebook account, they will be asked to log in to their Facebook account. This option works using Chrome or Edge browsers, Safari and Firefox ARE NOT currently supported by the Messenger Rooms platform.
Joining from a PC or Mac without a Facebook account (this option is only available if you create a public link, more details available here) will allow the Parent to enter a Guest Name and join using a Chrome or Edge browser, Safari and Firefox ARE NOT currently supported by the Messenger Rooms platform.
Joining from an iPad / iPhone with the Messenger App installed (this is the easiest method), the parent will be taken directly into the Messenger Room. They can use the filters available to add a background or accessories that will show on their video feed.
Joining from an iPad / iPhone WITHOUT the Messenger App installed will prompt the parent to get the Messenger App.
Joining from an Android device, the Parent will be shown a URL to copy and past in a Chrome browser.
