Control whether families must have a $0 balance before registering for classes, with new options to define what “$0 balance” means for your studio.
Prerequisites
Admin or authorized staff access to Online Registration Settings
Online registration enabled
Configure the $0 Balance Requirement
Navigate to Magic > Online Registration > Settings or Drop-Ins tab.
On the Settings tab, scroll down to the "Other Settings" section. Drop-Ins tab will show the option near the top of the settings.
Locate Require $0 Balance to Register
Enable (check the box) Require $0 balance to register.
Select how you'd like the system to define a $0 balance:
Total balance due
Overdue balance only
Overdue balance past due by days (Enter the number of days for the grace period when using Overdue balance past due by days.)
Save your changes.
Balance Definition Options
Total Balance Due
Prevents registration unless the family’s entire account balance is $0, including current and future charges.
Overdue Balance Only
Prevents registration only if the family has past-due invoices, allowing registration if upcoming balances are still within their due date.
Overdue Balance Past Due by Days
Prevents registration only if balances are overdue beyond a specified number of days, allowing a grace period for recent overdue payments. Ex:

Use Total balance due for strict payment enforcement.
Use Overdue balance only to allow flexibility for families with upcoming payments.
Use Overdue balance past due by days to reduce friction while still enforcing collections after a defined grace period.
Troubleshooting
Problem: A family cannot register even though they recently made a payment.
Solution: Check if Total balance due is selected and confirm whether any remaining balance (including pending or newly posted charges) exists.
Problem: A family with a small overdue balance can still register.
Solution: Verify if Overdue balance past due by days is enabled, and confirm the grace period allows the balance to remain temporarily.
