- An auto-loading video that loops and can be streamed from Studio Cloud or YouTube

Basic Setup Steps
To setup WDSP-TV, Go to the Magic Menu and click on the WDSP-TV menu item.
Settings
The settings screen allows you to add Featured Content, Scrolling News Feed items, and add the link to the streaming video that you want to show.
Featured Settings
The featured settings allow you to create Feature Items. The items are on a 10-second loop within the WDSP-TV presentation.
Some example items that would appear in the featured items.
- Student of the Week
- Upcoming Events
- Picture Day
- Costume Deposits due
- Fundraisers in progress
- Get to know a staff member
- Teacher of the Week
- Look who I caught being good
- Interesting Facts
To create a feature item, you only need an image, a title, and a description.
The live list will show underneath the input form. You can delete it at any time. You can also have unlimited featured stories.
Scrolling News Feed
The scrolling news feed is great for short little reminders. Here’s a list of some examples that you might have.
- Payments are due
- No parents in classrooms
- See Miss. Smith for handouts
- No practice next week due to school holiday
- Follow us on Facebook to stay informed
Streaming Video
Showing WDSP-TV
While there are many ways to show WDSP-TV in your lobby or at an event, we will cover just a couple of the most common ways to set up and use this feature. Internet access is required to stream WDSP-TV.
Option 1 – Use a Smart TV
Smart TVs typically have a built-in computer inside the TV. These typically include various types of software like Netflix, HBO Go, and other streaming services. They also typically have web browsers as well. Any TV with a built-in web browser and connected to the Internet can show the WDSP-TV stream. If you have a Smart TV, open the Web browser and copy and paste the URL from the WDSP-TV settings page.
The TV should immediately start showing your WDSP-TV screen. That’s it!
Option 2 – Using Google Chromecast
Smart TVs can be really expensive. If you don’t want to go out and buy one, then you can use a Google Chromecast unit with a computer and a TV. The Google Chromecast is a little dongle that plugs into a HDMI port on the back of your regular TV. They typically run about $29/USD.
Once you have the Google Chromecast setup on your TV, you can then use the Google Chrome Browser along with the Google Chromecast plug-in to stream WDSP-TV to your TV.
Steps.
- Follow the setup steps to configure your Google Chromecast
- Install Google Chrome on the Mac or PC that you will use to Stream WDSP-TV
- Open Google Chrome and install the Chromecast Plug-in
- Login to your Studio Pro Account and go to the WDSP-TV settings page.
- Click on the link for your WDSP-TV Stream.
This will open the WDSP-TV stream in a new window in Google Chrome.
Click the Google Chromecast plug-in button on the top right corner of your Google Chrome Browser.
This will reveal a drop-down list with your google Chromecast key.
Click on your Chromecast and select the Cast This Tab option.
Now, you should see your WDSP-TV stream on the tv screen. To get full screen, maximize your Google Chrome window and use the View menu option to enter Presentation mode.
This will show in full screen now.
Other options
There are several other options that you could use to stream your WDSP-TV screen. Below are some examples.
- Connect a computer directly to your television via HDMI or VGA
- Display WDSP-TV on a Projector with your laptop
- Use an AppleTV unit with an iPad. (This may have resolution issues depending on the screen type)
- Use a large computer screen connected to a laptop or PC
