Learn how to view who has received, opened, or not engaged with your emails using the Communications Activity dashboard, reports, and contact history in Studio Pro.
Prerequisites
Access to Studio Pro with permissions to view Communications Activity
Emails must have been sent through Studio Pro (e.g., Robo-Mailer or system emails)
View Email Activity in the Communications Activity Dashboard
Navigate to Communications Activity Dashboard in Studio Pro under Magic > Comm Dashboard
Select a date range or search for a specific email subject
Locate the message you want to review, and at a glance, you can see the metrics regarding the number of recipients, unread, opened, bounced, and complaints, as well as the Status, who sent it, and the source.
Click on the Message Title to open the activity pane with more details.
**Note - the Email Source will show Studio Pro Email System unless you have Google connected under More > Settings > Connect with Google.
If you have this connected and emails are sending through the Google connection, your delivery statistics in the Communications Activity Dashboard will be limited, as the delivery details live in Google, not in Studio Pro.
5. Scroll down on the activity pane to see the Delivery Statistics.
This shows the Total Sent, the number unread, opened, bounced, and complaints as well. You can click on any of these to also see the details of who did what.
View Email Engagement in Reports
Navigate to More > Reports > Communications.
In the Communications Log, you'll also see email status, source, and who an email was sent by.
View Email Activity in Parent or Student History
Open a Parent or Student profile
Navigate to the History option in the left menu.
You can review engagement details per email here as well.
Troubleshooting
Problem: Email shows as sent, but no opens are recorded
Solution: Confirm recipients have received the email and check spam or filtering issues; open tracking may depend on email client settings
Problem: The recipient is missing from the list
Solution: Verify the audience selection used when sending the message
Problem: High bounce rate
Solution: Review email addresses for accuracy and remove invalid or outdated contacts
Problem: Open rate seems inaccurate
Solution: Note that open tracking may be affected by privacy settings or blocked images in email clients
Problem: Super Users and Normal users are not seeing the Comm Dashboard
Solution: Ensure the user-level permissions have the Communications Log checked off under Reports, to ensure they can see the Comm Dashboard
FAQ
Can I see exactly who opened an email?
Yes, you can view recipient-level engagement in the message’s Delivery Statistics.
Why do some emails show as unread even if the recipient says they opened them?
Some email clients block tracking pixels, which may prevent opens from being recorded.
Where can I see engagement for a single contact?
Check the Parent or Student History to view communication records and statuses.
Why does the source show a G, and delivery statistics are missing?
The G means the emails were sent via the connected Google account. Since the delivery statistics are stored in that Google account, we're not able to access that insight to display in Studio Pro. Emails sent from Studio Pro Robo-Mailer will be able to display these details.
