Auto-Pay allows you to manually collect funds from enrolled accounts and have control of when funds are collected from the accounts. Your customers can enroll in Auto-Pay within the Parent Portal.
Financial information, such as credit card numbers or bank accounts, is not stored within Studio Pro. Studio Pro sends electronic requests to the merchant processor (Studio Pro Merchant Services powered by Stripe, Stripe external, or Authorize.net) to charge a customer's account without specifying the financial details. This protects you and your customers.
Auto-Pay requires the following items to be set up BEFORE a customer can enroll:
- A merchant account with either Studio Pro Merchant Services, Stripe, or Authorize.net
- Enrollment in Auto-Pay turned ON. This allows your customers to see the enrollment button.
Auto-Pay setup is available on the More > Settings > Auto-Pay Settings screen.
Make sure that Auto-Pay is turned ON to use this service.
All other settings are optional. This includes the Transaction Codes, Convenience Fees, and Auto-Pay Agreement Text.
You can define individual convenience fees by transaction method.
To set up your Merchant account, go to More > Merchant Services:
Fill in your business information as accurately as possible to streamline the initial verification process.
Once your information is received, our team will review and email you for the next steps.
If you already have a processor (Stripe, PayPal, or Authorize.net), head over to More > Settings > Connections to enter your processor information.
US & International customers will see the option to use Studio Pro Merchant Services. Studio Pro Merchant Services will work for credit/debit cards and ACH processing (ACH processing is available to our US customers, BECS for our Australian customers). Authorize.net supports ECheck, credit/debit cards and has a monthly service fee. While Stripe only supports credit/debit cards and has no monthly fee. Any of these options will work with Auto-Pay.
Stripe and Authorize.net do incur a 1.25% Technology Fee per payment processed. The technology fee can be avoided by using Studio Pro Merchant Services.
PayPal does not work for Auto-Pay.
Once you have completed your Merchant Account setup, your customers can enroll in Auto-Pay.
